.more boating.

I finally was ready to give boating another try. Seeing as last time I was so sick, it took me a few weeks to get the guts to go back out again. I'm happy to report that it was a great experience! I took some extra motion sickness medicine and got into the water and was pulled around on the knee board. I think it made a big difference to get into the water and cool off and not just sit on the hot boat and rock all afternoon.

Charlie came with us and it turns out he is quite the water dog, much to Josh's delight! When the kids were out on the tube he'd jump right off the boat and join them. All that swimming wore him out and he found a nice spot in the bow of the boat to take a snooze. The boys are both getting so good on the knee board. TJ can turn all the way around and Gage showed off some pretty sweet sideways tricks. Brynn loves the tube. She'll stand out on it and scare her Mother to death! She tells us she's doing backflips! ha!

.boating and baseball.

Another afternoon on the boat. We brought Sam and Matt with us this time and tried out the new tube for the first time. I'd say the kids liked it. Brynn even got out for a ride and loved it. After we got her off, the boys wanted me to try and flip them off. That tube is hard to flip, but I did manage to send Sam a flying!

Too many pictures and looking back at the kids got me extremely motion sick. So bad that I needed to be dropped off. Josh took the kids back out for a little while longer. I got sick by a tree and sat on a picnic table swarming with bugs and pollen so thick it looked like snow. It wasn't the best time for me, but everyone else enjoyed themselves.

Thursday night we went to Ogden to see Josh's cousin Tyler play ball. Tyler was just drafted by the Kansas City Royals and is now playing on their minor league team the Idaho Falls Chuckers. The Chuckers were in town playing the Ogden Raptors and Aunt Kathy hooked us up with some tickets. Tyler was sweet to sign the boys mitts and also a baseball for each of them.

Tyler certainly has a bright future so we told the boys to hang onto their autographed memorabilia.

It was miserably hot, but of course so much fun! The game held the boys attention and Brynn loved running all over the place. Can't think of anything better to do on a beautiful June evening.

.on the bay.

After weeks and weeks of waiting for the dang weather to be nice enough outside, we finally were able to take our boat on her maiden voyage! We participated in the ward service project that morning and afterward we threw on our swimsuits and drove out to the bay. We stopped for gas and got some sandwiches at subway. It was nice outside, but the water was cold! 60 degrees to be exact. The bugs were awful! We thought having a picnic out on the water would be a good idea, but it was ruined by all the bugs. Never again, we'll just eat before we got next time! I had my first boat driving lesson and pulled Josh all over the lake. He tried every kind of ski gear we had and was loving it! I wish I got some pictures of him, but that was impossible with all I had to worry about when driving. He convinced TJ to get in the water to try out the knee board. His wetsuit was shorts and the poor guy panicked when he got in. He was freaking out and kept telling me to get him back inside. Josh said to just go and they eventually enjoyed their ride. He was happy again when he got out, but I don't think Josh can talk him into getting back in for awhile.

.boat.

So, we got a boat. Josh started obsessing over getting a boat last summer. He spent time looking on KSL finding boats he liked until I'd shoot him down every time saying we didn't have the money for it! (We needed to get some other bills paid off and down) I told him we should start a boat fund and he could save for one! He's the instant gratification type and saving for him would be a big deal. I decided we could get a boat, Summer 2012. Well, here we are. Not summer 2011 yet, and have a boat. That's how it rolls around here sometimes. He ended up doing some trade work for his uncle in exchange for the boat. I loved the price and was pleasantly surprised when he brought it home. Its older, but pretty nice. I don't know my feeling on boating yet because I haven't had too much experience, but he's beyond excited.

Josh got some old boat gear from his Dad and we spent the evening trying on all the wetsuits. Don't you love the neon? Even better is TJ showing us where the boobs go in his women's top and Brynn doing I don't know what?!?! ha ha!
