.fhe up the canyon.

We went up to Mantua for family night to see the leaves. We got going a little late and it was pretty dark when we got there. I brought my nice camera to get some pictures, but the battery was dead. Thank goodness for my camera phone.

.september.

Our vegetable garden has been very productive this year. I planted zucchini, yellow squash, jalapenos, green peppers and tomatoes. I think we had zucchini with dinner every day in August and now we are eating the loads of tomatoes the garden is blessing us with! BLT sandwich for dinner, yes please!

Brynn Ann hasn't been taking naps now for over a year, but that still doesn't stop her from falling asleep at night around dinnertime. sigh.

Gage has been able to take his turn this year mowing the lawn. Both the boys enjoy getting assigned this chore.

Gage lost his front tooth this month. Doesn't get much cuter than that!

After practice this week, the coach let the boys off a little early so they could attend the Box Elder vs. Bear River football game. Its the big rivalry of the area so it was a packed house. TJ's buddy Noah from his team sat with us. TJ was so excited. He was enthralled with the entire game and talked about it all the way home how he wanted to play there someday.

Our game was the next day at Mountain Crest. The game before was running an hour late and since we were to be there an hour early we had a lovely 2 hour wait. Trying to keep the boys busy while staying in the shade was interesting. Thankfully TJ caught a grasshopper and that kept them busy for awhile.

We got crushed again this game. The Mountain Crest team was good...real good. Good thing its fun anyways.

.halloween.

Halloween is so much different these days than when I was young. (That sounds like an old person phrase) but its true. Our neighborhood does a Trunk or treat. I don't like these at all, so we don't go. My poor kids are deprived. I actually don't even think they know what that is because they've never been before. We went to Bear River again this year and trick or treated like it was intended with the cousins door to door! The weather was yucky all day and we got sprinkled on, but that didn't stop the fun. They boys both were really into it this year and raced all night long. Brynn tagged along and ended up with a ton of candy too! She was nice and shared with Mom and Dad.

.gutting and carving time.

The kids were anxious to carve the pumpkins so I had them start to clean them out before Dad got home.

After dinner, we invited the other Barkers over our 2nd annual carving get together.

Gage did almost all of the carving on his intricate design himself.

Since we weren't able to get pumpkins on our previous outing. Brynn, Gage and I went after school one day and found some beauties.

.pumpkin pickin'.

We went to the local fruit stand about a week before Halloween to pick out our pumpkins.

The kids were able to expend some energy playing in the maze they had there.

After playing in the hay for awhile we were surprised to find out they were completely sold out of their carving pumpkins! what the?

With the cooler weather we've kicked on the heater. Each and every one of my kids love to sit on the heat vents with a blanket to warm up, just like their Mommy. Some mornings we fight over who gets the best blower in the hallway.

We also found our winter storage stuff!
