.ten years.

Ten years ago we were here, making vows to stick together forever. We were so young. And somehow, all those years ago I made the best decision of my whole life.
That I get to spend forever with this man:
And to create this family with him:

How did I know back what a kind and loving person he is? What an amazing Father he'd be to our children? How did I know what a kid he is at heart and how much of a teaser he'd be? How did I know how much of a support he'd be, and how well he'd provides for us? And how did I know I'd love him more and more everyday?

I guess I couldn't have known clear back then, but I sure felt it.

And how every year on June 15th (and every day of my life for that matter) I contemplate over and over again how I am the luckiest girl I know.

Josh and I celebrated 10 years of wedded bliss on Wednesday June 15th. After work, we got a babysitter and went down to our Temple in Bountiful. I had made us an appointment to do sealings. We were married in this temple and its been a long time since we've been back to where it all began. During a break in the sealings we told the officiator it was our anniversary and that we were married here ten years ago today. They were sweet and afterward showed us around the rooms while we tried to remember which one our ceremony took place. I think I remembered, but room was busy so we couldn't go inside. I told the gentleman helping us that I don't remember too much about exactly where everything happened and that our wedding day was a happy blur. I do remember where we sat and waited together in the celestrial room while we waited for everyone to be seated that day. It was in between sessions and we had the whole celestrial room to ourselves! We sat in our spot and enjoyed the peace and quiet and each other!

I made plans to visit a local restaurant in Bountiful after. When we were walking up to the front door it said they had closed the week before and were only available now for catering. We needed a plan B so we stopped at Texas Roadhouse. We walked in and then right back out again when we heard how loud it was and saw all the peanut shells on the floor. We were looking for something a little nicer and ended up at Tenpanyaki, a Japanese restaurant in Layton instead. Neither of us had eaten there before. It a family style table where the chef comes and cooks your meal right in front of you. It was fun and entertaining and the food was delicious!

I made this collage as a gift for Josh. I printed up pictures of just the two of us to create it. It was fun looking through all our old pictures and reminiscing.

I also made this project. I put a vinyl sticker counting up to ten on balloons and then attached a card with a picture and what we did that year for every year we've been married.

.vegas wrap up.

We woke up Wednesday morning and checked out of our hotel. We had another room reserved for our last two nights in Vegas. I thought it would be fun to do two hotels and change things up a bit. We drove over to the Palms Hotel to check it out since its quite a ways off the strip. We found the Huntington Tattoo shop. Since I'm a reality show junkie we've been watching the Hart & Huntington Tattoo show on A&E. It was way different than the show! I was glad to get Josh out of there because he made me nervous the whole time he'd really get a tattoo!
We called the kids and said hello that night before dinner. We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe.

We checked into our suite at the Aria. It was a fancy hotel across the street from where we stayed the first two nights. We rested up a bit and walked all the casinos on this side of the strip.
Thursday morning was spent again at the pool. We then went to try and get tickets to an afternoon comedy show at Harrah's. The street side ticket booth said the show was sold out but we went down anyway. We found the theater and asked about tickets which they still had available. We were about 10 minutes late, but the show was fantastic and we were so glad to make it. It was the Mac King Comedy show.

The Vinetian. We wondered around, shopped and ended up eating dinner again at the Cheesecake Factory for the second time!

Our room was really neat. It had windows on two whole sides of the room. I was hoping we'd get a room on the Bellagio side of the resort so we could see the fountains at night. We ended up on the opposite side, but the view wasn't bad! :)

Josh crashed out after all that walking!
We left for home early Friday morning. The drive seemed long and we were anxious to see the kids. It was a fabulous trip, I loved spending so much time with just each other. It was so good to be home, but I'm having some major vacation withdrawal! Can't wait till next time babe!

.Tuesday.

We spent the entire morning at the pool! Poolside is much more relaxing when you don't have to keep your eye on little ones.

We got showered and dressed and then headed to an early dinner. We ate at PF Chang's in Planet Hollywood. Love it there!

Most of the rest of the day we spent walking! Walking and walking is pretty much all you do in Vegas. We got a few pictures of the gorgeous gardens in the Bellagio.

.sunday.

We slept in on Sunday. After having the hotel's continental breakfast (which was really good) we headed to Snow Canyon State Park. Josh had been before as a kid, but I've never been and I love going someplace new!

We drove all the way through the park and turned around to get out and hike around. We went on the Hidden Pinyon trail first. I think Josh hiked almost the whole way in bare feet! He's a sand junkie.

We then drove down to the Pioneer Names trail.

The trail passes a collection of some names on a rock face, written in axle grease. The names date back to early settlers from 1881. Josh climbed up to the writings.

There were a few rock climbers so we sat and watched them awhile. Josh found a climbers pouch with chalk and carabiner. This was his impression using his new found equipment.

We then drove down to the Tuachan Theater for fun. The gates were open so we walked around a bit, got our pictures in the characters for their productions this summer. I'm convinced and would love to take the kids down to see a show this year!

We left and stopped at the Temple grounds. It was busy with visitors enjoying the beautiful building and grounds. We laid on the grass for a bit and had an apple.

I set up the camera and got a few shots of the two of us. The visitors center was open and we went in to look around.

Finally we went to the St. George outlet mall before we headed to Mesquite, NV for the evening. We didn't have hotel plans for that evening and decided in the morning to book a room for down there. We checked into our hotel room and explored the town and casinos. We ended up at the Virgin River casino and had their buffet for dinner. The food was yummy and we stuffed ourselves, Josh stuffed himself sick! Then it was back to our hotel, Falcon Ridge for some hot tubbin' before bed. Another great day!
