.baptsim photoshoot.

I had big plans for TJ's baptism pictures! I shopped for his new suit, found the perfect tie, brainstormed photo ideas. The day was fast approaching and I started to panic being able to get everything done and his announcements ordered in time. The weather never seems to cooperate either. Valentine's Day turned out to be the day! The weather was nice, the day was overcast, perfect! I unfortunately wasn't able to break the news to TJ till right after school. I've been preparing him for this and told him, I knew it wasn't something he wanted to do. But, it was for Mom and I wanted his help so we could get it done nice and quick.

It went okay. He actually did very well...considering. We headed up to Manuta first and there was more snow than I was expecting! (Duh) We did just a few shots there and then headed to the Tabernacle and then to a spot by our house. He had a pretty big meltdown towards the end and it ended on a sour note. It was just under an hour which I thought was doing pretty well. Guess it was too long for him though.

Even though it didn't turn out like I wanted it to (never does) we did get some cute shots. Nothing creative or exciting, but still darling! I adore this little guy!

.six.

Gage had his very first friend Birthday party this year. This Birthday was on a Saturday, so the party was exactly on his Birthday which was fun. We ran the invitations to his friends a few days before and counted down till the big day! He wanted a 'Rustler Car' Birthday theme, (his new remote control car) but I was able to broaden it to 'Race Cars'.

I had fun researching and getting party ideas. We saved cereal and graham cracker boxes for weeks and I made traffic lights out of them. It was very easy, cute and inexpensive!

I also made this banner our of checkered material and some binding.

The cake was a huge project for me, like always! We spend two hours on this puppy! Gage was there helping me the whole time. Its a race track in case you can't tell!

Party favors for all the kids.

We first played games. First with balloons.

Then more with balloons, this time races.

Push the ping pong ball across the room using only your nose.

Then 'pass the car'. Basically the same as hot potato with a hot wheel car.

The whole group...

then down to three!

Open present time and heavy, heavy hangover.

Pizza for lunch!

Birthday boy!

The whole gang! This is my project 52 for this week. Had to do some head swapping!

make a wish!

My sweet love of a husband who was SO much help! Thanks babe!

Mandatory picture with Mom as thanks for such a great party! ;)

Grandma Kerry came up that afternoon and gave him this fantastic tool set. We attended the Temple for our ward night and she stayed over and watched the kids!

.project 52, week 1.

Week One

I've decided to do a yearly photography project. There's lots of people who do a 365 project. Basically they take a photo everyday. I pretty much do this already, but I'm wanting to do a weekly photo where I'm planning shoot and editing a photo. So, this is the first of my project, hopefully I can keep it up. It doesn't sound as daunting as doing it every single day.

Week One: Gage
Gage turns 6 on Saturday. He's having his first friend party and I told him I wanted to get some pictures for his invitation (which turned out darling I might add). It went great! He was excited to take them and not having my kids whine when I take their pictures makes it fun for me too! This one was my favorite! He looks so grown up.
