.cake and Amy visit.

I was feeling this month that I needed to work harder on connecting with my boys. With Brynn it feels easy and sometimes I feel like its harder with the boys? I'm not sure why other than their boys and don't necessarily like to do the same things I do?

I asked Gage what he wanted to do with just Mom. He said bake a cake! Perfect! I love me a good cake to so we started work on his creation.

He did EVERYTHING himself. I helped measure and give instructions, but this cake was his and he was so happy to be given that control.

He even frosted it himself.

He kept telling us that it was his cake...but that he'd share with everyone. Nice guy.

Amy and Katy came and spent an afternoon with us. We took some pictures of the kids and then got everyone icees after.

.more random august.

We've had a ton of zucchini's this year. I've made zucchini bread and zucchini bars. Mostly we just fry them up and put Parmesan cheese on the top. Brynn helped me bake lots this month.

Our annual ward party was held at the Brigham Pool again this year. We meet for a fried chicken dinner before and then swim after. The only bummer is was have to wait till the pool opens to get in and play, by this time its after 8:00 so we usually don't stay very long.

Brynn seems close to potty training so we got her some big girl panties and princess pull-ups. We tried a few days and I decided to give it another few weeks before we try again. Ugh. I hate potty training with a passion!!!

Brynn is fabulous at drawing circles. She draws them all over the place, notebooks, picture books, the counters and the walls downstairs! Gulp.
