I was very anxious for Thanksgiving to get here this year. We had some exciting news we were going to share then, and it seemed to make the time till drag. We spent the holiday with my side of our family this year. We met at Mom's Thanksgiving afternoon. I made 'gratitude rolls' which were crescent rolls with pieces of paper baked inside reading something someone at the table was thankful for this year. I also made sweet potatoes. As we finished getting dinner ready, Amy had some fun activities for the kids to do. When we were ready for dinner I made sure my Mom got a special roll I made, just for her. When she opened it, it read: I am thankful for my TWO new grandbabies next year. She didn't get it at first until my sister Amy shouted, "Are you pregnant?!" Yep, we are expecting a baby next June! The announcement worked out perfectly and it was nice to finally share our secret.
Later that evening we got out the Black Friday ads and decided where we wanted to go. Josh decided to stay home because Toys R Us didn't appeal to him. He got up early instead and went to Home Depot.
We spent the night with Mom along with Katy. It didn't go so well with her as she was scared and wanted her Mom. It probably was a good thing Josh stayed so he could get Brynn to sleep while Grandma dealt with Katy.
I went with Amy and Steve to Toys R Us. They opened at 9pm. The line was HUGE and we almost went to Wal-Mart instead. I convinced them to stay saying Wal-Mart wouldn't be any better. We waited outside for about 45 minutes. It wasn't too cold, thank goodness. As soon as we go inside Steve got in the checkout line which wrapped around and around the store. It worked out to take turns in line with the cart while the others went shopping. We waited over an hour and finally checked out at about midnight. We then went to Shopko before they dropped me off at Mom's. I crawled in bed around 2am.
