Yesterday was Josh's 28th Birthday! Our basement flooded the night before so he stayed home yesterday to clean up and get ready for an appraisal we had on our home scheduled for that afternoon. (perfect timing) I was in the kitchen most of the day. He requested ham fried rice for dinner with frog eye salad, his favorite. He also wanted lemon bars instead of cake.
We went swimming to celebrate after dinner. The boys had fun showing Dad what they learned at swimming lessons. On Tuesday we went to Bear River for their Pioneer Day activities. We made it just in time to see the end of the parade. This is the ending entry...the baby donkey was so cute!

Monday night we got drenched in rain. It came down in buckets. The boys rode their bikes in it for awhile before I called them in. Look at the puddles on the driveway.
We discovered later that it had flooded the basement. We used a broom to push the water out the door. Thankfully Josh had been working and painting down there and most of our belongings were up off the floor, that's not to say nothing got wet. But It could have been so much worse. We mopped up the rest with beach towels and turned on the fans to dry it out.
We got Gage some medicine at the Dr's on Monday. He didn't start feeling better until Wednesday. They didn't say it was strep throat, but it was something similar. He's all better now.We are going camping this weekend! We haven't camped since May. Josh's family had a reunion from Today till Sunday. Have a nice weekend.

Well, it sounds like Josh had a happy birthday in spite of everything. Nice picture of you Brit, is that Amy's old coat that you took home the other day? Kinda looks like it. I see Josh has his famous "buzz" do again! Really pretty pictures from your drive to Idaho. . .
Frog eye salad!! UGH..nasty stuff! I'm glad he had a good birthday and that you had a nice weekend! Sorry about the basement but I'm glad it wasn't worse than it was. Love and miss you!
