Well, it didn't go very well. I had told him that the store wouldn't let us buy diapers anymore because he was getting too big. He needed to learn how to use the potty like a big boy! This logic worked so well with his brother. TJ has always wanted to be big, and do big things. Gage on the other hand seemed to care less. Those first few days were just awful! He didn't have success again until the next afternoon. I did lots and lots of laundry. I had him wear some sweat shorts that worked well to absorb mess before it hit the floor. He didn't even pee in the potty until day 3, by this time I though maybe he just wasn't ready yet. Once he started going #1 in the potty...there was no stopping him.
The next hurdle was getting him to go outside. Again with TJ this wasn't a problem. He loved peeing on anything and everything he could! With Gage, it took a little longer. Now his favorite place to go outside is on the dune buggy tire! Finally the last hurdle we faced was Saturday at a wedding reception. This would be his first public potty experience! He did great and seemed to really like to go to the bathroom like the big kids, wash his hands and get his own paper towel. We are just SO excited!!! I dread potty training like the plague, but you just need to get past that part when you want to give up. Because right around the corner it will get much better! WTG Gage!
We've been changing diapers for 4 1/2 years, it's so exciting to finally have a break for ahwile!!!
Here are some pictures of Gage riding the 3 wheeler by himself! Scary I know, I should get some video because he is actually really good at it. This was when I thought to myself, if he can ride a motorcycle by himself...he should be able to use the toilet!

This is usually how Gage ends up at night before we go to bed. He makes himself a little bed by the door, complete with blanket and pillow.
We had some rain this past weekend. I took this shot Sunday afternoon while I was delivering around some flyer's.I got volunteered to be the "block captain" for our ward's emergency preparedness plan. I am in charge of our entire street. I am having a meeting tomorrow to discuss the plan and gather some information from my neighbors. That's what the flyer's are all about. Why me???
And finally, my guilty TV pleasure of the season started last night. The Bachelor! I love this show! I wonder what that says about me???

Gage is totally going to hate that pic of him on the potty when he gets older! Great blackmail for future use! Congrats again on the no diaper duty!! I recorded the Bachelor but didn't watch it so we will have to dish about it after I watch it. :) Love and miss you!
