Xel-Ha

Xel-Ha is described as a natural aquarium. It is an inlet, lagoon area that leads to the Caribbean Sea. There was so much to do and we didn't even see the half of it!

The tour we got was all inclusive, this included snorkeling equipment, lockers and all the food and drinks you wanted. We were hungry when we got there so after we changed into our swimwear we went and ate at one of the many buffets on the property.

We had borrowed Harry's nice snorkeling equipment and once done with lunch, headed straight to the water. The water was cool, but only took a second to get used to it. We set off and followed the shoreline (where most of the fish were) to the bridge. There was a free floating bridge at the end of the park almost to where it met the sea. This was the place to go to see lots of fish, so were were told. It's true because the bridge had so many fish. They were so HUGE it was a little freaky. I was doing fine as far as sea sickness...before we got to the bridge. Once there I stuck my head up and once I saw that bridge rising and falling, up and down, It did me in and I needed to sit out awhile. Josh on the other hand has no trouble with this and did lots and lots of snorkeling.
After I got feeling better we went out again. This time we spotted a sting-ray. Josh got a pretty good picture of it don't you think?

Here's some fish under the bridge

See what I mean about them being a little scary. That's a huge fish!!! Josh looked at this picture and laughed at this fishes frown.

That's me!

After we snorkeled for a few hours we sat on some lawn chairs in the sun for awhile. We at dinner at a Mexican sit down restaurant. They had the best coconut ice cream I've ever had!

The park is huge, we really should have planned on spending the whole day there.

This might be my favorite picture of the trip. After dinner we went back and grabbed some ice cream cones before we left. Here is Josh with his two ice cream cones and his Margarita!

Cheers!

Before we left to get on the bus we had a few minutes to spare so we stopped at the Hammock Jungle and relaxed.

The had some dolphins at the entrance of the park. There was a separate fee you could pay to swim with them. It was feeding time and we watched them jump and play for the longest time. It's neat seeing things like dolphins...you just don't see everyday.
