Bus ride. When we got off the bus, we spotted this huge Mexican Flag! Seeing another flag fly sure makes you aware your in another country.

Josh used his Spanish to ask a local where to catch a ferry, he told us where it was and how to get there. While we were down there we found an access to a public beach and walked out to see the view. Here the beach lied on the North end of Cancun. We were staying on the East side and it was amazing the difference in the water, more importantly the waves. Here is was as calm as could be.

Here is my cute Grandma and her husband Arch. They spent every morning collecting seashells for a dry riverbed thy are working on at home. Every night you could find them at happy hour enjoying drinks and splitting a hamburger. We had reservations that night for dinner at a local Italian restaurant called La Doche Vita.
This was my absolute favorite dinner of the trip. The food was wonderful, great service and we got to sit outside on the veranda that looked over the Lagoon side of Cancun. It was so beautiful and romantic. We also got to see an alligator that was sitting right outside in the water!

Wednesday we got up early and headed to Isla Mujeres. We took the bus downtown then got off and caught a cab to the ferry port. Our cab ride cost us all of $2.50. Josh likes to talk to everyone and asked about the drivers family and job. He found out that he owns his own taxi and works 10-14 hour days. His family didn't live there with him but were father away in Mexico. After we got out Josh told me he shouldn't ask about people because then he just wants to give them more money. He tipped him more than he might have had he not asked. What a good man, I just love him so much!
Here is us on the Ferry. The ride was only about 15 minutes and a straight shot, I loved that part.Once we got there we headed straight for the beach. It was perfect and the water was pleasant. We swam and layed out for quite awhile.
After we headed into town and decided to rent a motor scooter to see the island and to get to some destinations. I think we paid about $25 for the whole afternoon. Josh drove and I hung on for the ride. Everyone on the island gets around my motor scooters or golf carts!!! We almost rented a golf cart, but the scooter was more our style.
Our first stop was the Tortuga Farm! It was a small place that looked like it had been funded for about5 years. The sign on the outside ran from 2003-2008. I wonder if it would be there in a few more years?
I don't know if you can tell but this tank was chuck full of baby sea turtles. Can you see how many there were?
There were a few tanks with some bigger ones. We bought a package of what looked like cat food to feed them. That's what Josh is doing here.

Josh bought the boys some shark teeth necklaces. Here he's finagling a deal. BTW, the boys loved these!
