.be still my beating heart.

I had a Dr. appointment yesterday. It was Gage and I as usual. Did all the routine stuff...blood pressure, weight, pee in a cup. After I was checked he asked if I wanted to take a look at the baby since Its been awhile.

We changed exam rooms to the one with the U/S machine. He was moving the wand around and we got to see her. (She's getting so big). She's head down and he said it's likely that she will stay that way...only like a 5% chance she'd turn around to breech. He got down to her bottom area and says...."so...your having a boy, right?"


...silence...


"no", I said...I'm having a girl."

"well, it looks to me like you have a boy in there."



...more silence... I think all the blood rushed to my head because I can remember hearing my heartbeat very clearly.




He looks at me and smiles...."April Fools".

I was so relieved! He apologized and said he just had to do it. Funny. You shouldn't mess with a pregnant woman's heart like that! Anyway she's still a she! Thank goodness, because if it were a boy...he'd have a VERY PURPLE room!

When I left the office, I called Josh and made the quick decision to tease him the same way. For all that know him, he's the biggest tease around. I told him that I had some big news and that the baby was really a boy. He asked if the Dr. was sure. I said yes, and I had the picture to prove it. He told me congratulations...ha, ha. He was walking into a meeting and said he had to go. I texted him about 15 minutes later ( had to let it sink in a minute) and said

April Fools, it's still a girl!

He called back around an hour later and said I was mean and that I really got him. He leaned over to his co-worker when I first told him and said it was a boy. His co-worker said, looks like your having 4 kids!
