At least they look like small rocks. It actually looks like you have some pretty good dirt. It doesn't look like clay. Clay is like one big giant rock!!! Cute post!
Ah rocks...I guess it's better than finding old junk that the previous owner (a shut in) collected and buried. Who lays carpet in their back yard?!?! Cute pics of the kids. Wish I was there to come and help!
So removing rocks to plant grass? I'm sorry! Just think of the reward in store for you this spring! Your kids will love having a grassy yard to play in! The pictures really tell it all don't they, I couldn't believe it! I remember when we were clearing out a very rocky garden when I was young (not much of a comparison) my mom told us she's give us a penny for every rock we picked. Now in your case you'd probably go broke if you did that but I feel your pain to some degree. Wish we could come help you for a weekend!
I love that Josh is standing there like what in the (beep) am I going to do with all of these rocks. I feel your pain though...we are going to be there soon...but not until spring...we are hoping if we let is snow on all the rocks it will just go away and we will be ready to plant grass in the spring...oh and the sprinkling system is going to magically appear too right?

That makes me want to cry! I remember doing that at our house, I think we raked, and raked, and raked.... Call us, we will come help!
I grew up on the mountain in Brigham. It seemed like the rocks grew up from the dirt, they just keep coming back!!
