I got pumpkins early this year. As Halloween drew near I was worried we would not get around to carving them. We finally made the time and carved them the day before.

After cutting off the tops we told the boys it was their job to clean out their own pumpkin. Gage took one look at his and announced that he did want to do it. He was grossed out by how it felt inside. Eventually he warmed up to the idea and dug in.
TJ had no problems with this part whatsoever.

We let the kids design their own faces and help cut them out. They both loved holding those little pumpkin carving knives and doing it them selves.

Here's
TJ's scary face. Although I think his face is scarier than the pumpkin.

Gage's only pumpkin wish was to have one with "sharp teeth".

I made a happy face.

And finally Josh's.

I just love that Brynn is about the
size of a pumpkin.

Lighting them. This was another favorite part of
TJ's. He's such a boy!

Spooky!
