Friday I had a hair appointment at Katie's salon. I dropped the kids off with Mom and then got to go visit her and get my hair done. She did a fantastic job! She even put flat iron curls in my hair for fun, I never ever curl my hair.
Amy and baby Katy were at Mom's when I got back. Brynn cried for an hour straight for my Mom, then finally they became buddies. Thanks again for watching them Mom!
Saturday we had tickets to the Draper Temple open house. We left early and I took Josh to IKEA for the first time. We spent about 2 hours there before it was time to leave for the Temple. The tour took us about 2 1/2 hours. We saw my friend
Chantell and her cute family there and a girl, Leslie from my frozen dinner club. Such a small world. We parked at a local chapel and waited our turn for the video. Then they loaded us on the bus to take us up to the Temple. It was very busy and the tour walk was slow. It was kinda a chore to take 3 small children. We walked and walked, and this was after we walked and walked around IKEA...probably not the best of ideas because they were already tired before the tour even started. I know we will be blessed for our efforts and I hope the boys remember the day.
There was NO photo ops on the tour. I think I took 3 pictures total. Its just set up so you can't really walk the grounds afterwards and of course you can't take pictures in the Temple. That part kinda bumbed me out. No strollers either so Josh and I passed Brynn back and forth. She fell asleep at the end.
This picture is the best one I got, it was taken in the chapel next door where they gave you water and cookies afterward. This turned out to be both the boys favorite part. When we were in the Celestial Room I could see that TJ was impressed...at least with the incredible chandler they had hanging from the ceiling. I whispered to him this is a very special room because here, we can feel very close to heaven.
He stopped, turned around and told me... "I don't feel NOTHING mother!" It was pretty funny everyone around us got a kick out of it, especially the usher. This was towards the end of the tour and he had about had it.
We decided to stop at the Mayan for dinner on the way home. The wait was over an hour so we opted to eat at Spaghetti Mama's next door instead.
At least we got a picture of the boys in the snake's mouth.
And finally, the basement is about done besides a few odds and ends to finish up. Josh laid travertine tile in the kitchenette, bathroom and laundry room. Carpet was laid all last week and everything pulled together wonderful.

We put a little lighter carpet in two of the bedrooms. I like it best...but with kids I really need carpet that's the color of dirt for the bigger areas.
The boys have already staked out a corner and pitched their tent.
Brynn in the play spot under the stairs.
laundry room

The carpet is a little bit lighter than upstairs...but not much.
