.july 4th.

I say it every year...but I LOVE the 4th of July! The small town festivities up here are just amazing and I adore spending the whole day together as a family participating!

Mandatory sibling picture together with their celebration outfits.

We were at the local park bright and early. The flay ceremony and races began at 7am! TJ and I ran in the mile "fun run".

And they're off!

TJ kicked my butt! He shot off like lightening and I never saw him, not once after that. He was waiting for me at the finish line and ran the last of the race with me.

Us together after.

He surprised everyone by taking 2nd place in his age group. He scored this pretty neat ribbon.

Here boys, Mom wants your picture.

The parade didn't start till 11am. Josh was playing in the soft ball tournament and had a game afterwards at 9am. The boys stayed with Dad and played in the park and I ran home with Brynn and laid her down for a nap and I jumped in the shower.

By the time we got back...the park was PACKED! We've attended the event every year since we've been married...8 years now. And every year it gets bigger. Good thing I left Josh and the boys. They got us a decent seat on the grass.

Gotta love a small town parade!

Brynn was entertained. She loved the candy and otter pops that were passed out.
After the parade we got lunch and watched Josh play in his final game. He ended up on 2 teams this year so our week was pretty busy with games.

After we got home we all laid down and took a nap! It was heaven. The kids would be up late that night and it worked out perfectly to do so.

And finally that night we met our family at the park for cake and ice cream. I have a few nieces and a nephew that have Birthdays on the 4th-7th. We usually do a party for them.

Here's our traditional family picture on the 4th!

cake time!

sparklers on the grass...another 4th tradition!

...dueling sparklers...

So, Brynn hated the firework show. No surprise there. But there was a few minutes in between sobs that I think she kinda liked them.

My goof ball.

Now that the 4th is all over, summer is in full swing. Where is the time going??? We still have lots to cram in before the boys head back to school!

Looks like so much fun. It is nice that Perry does have so much going on for the holiday and you can stay right at home and enjoy it.
