.caw, caw.

So we really crammed in alot of stuff our last few weeks of summer. Week before last we met up with my friend Emily and her kids and headed east to the bird refuge. We got the whole experience and drove out first to take the auto tour!

We saw lots of wildlife, huge pelicans, cranes, seagulls and lots of other birds.

The auto tour had quite a few pullouts to stop along the way. We stopped at almost every one. The six boys (Emily's 4 and mine) loved throwing rocks in the water and scaring all the birds away!

A few of the stops had walkout decks that gave a better view of the surroundings.

After the 12 mile tour we headed back to visit the Education Center. On the drive I pulled over to take a picture of the boys in the beautiful wheat fields.

Yeah...you can see how well that went over.

The education center was beautiful. They had nice displays and the air conditioning was delightful.

Brynn, like always, just liked being out of the car!

The last thing we did before we left was walk along the paths around the center.

So, Emily! What should our next big adventure be???

Be careful what you ask for Britney. I'm sure we could think of all sorts of adventures. :) But could any other top this one? The drive out to the auto-tour on paved, semi-paved, and unpaved roads was an adventure in and of itself. You have to admit that at least one time you asked yourself, "Where the heck is she taking me?!?" The real question though is were your boys screaming, "We're gonna die!!!" like mine were crossing the narrow bridges? Good times. Good times. :)

Okay so I was having a hard time telling where the blog post ended. I thought I could comment more, but it's all one post! First of all Congrats on the fair entries, you are a VERY talented photog! We had a great time at the Gateway. I love the picture of Gage on the moon with TJ and Brynn. Wheeler farm was a blast. Your pictures turned out great. And I am so proud of the ribbons for the boys too...even the purple! Great job Brit!
