oooh! I love Christmas! I've decided to do a Christmas countdown on my blog this year. I've slacked BIG time on my blog posts the past few months and think this will be a fun way to get back into the bloggin' thing. My Christmas countdown will be a Christmas journal of sorts. Each day I will do a themed post about something Christmas related like our family traditions, ideas, recipes, decorations, etc. I thought I’d kick it off with a little Christmas Meme. Feel free to do this on your blog and post a link here so I can check it out.1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot chocolate. I used to like egg nog, deluded with milk. But not so much anymore. Josh, the boys and Brynn all love it. I even got some for Halloween this year!
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Santa wraps our presents. If it were up to Josh, he wouldn't. But I insist!
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? I prefer colored.
4. Do you hang mistletoe? No.
5. When do you put up your decorations? Usually the first week of December!
6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Another hard one...I love ham and rolls.
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? Hard to say, but probably the year I got my American Girl doll Molly. I also remember buy for a sub for Santa family, that made me feel very special.
8. Did you write letters to Santa? Yes, I did.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Yes, the kids can open one gift on Christmas Eve, new PJ's. We did this tradition growing up as well.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? with ornaments. I really need to get going collecting more, our tree is still pretty bare.
12. Can you ice skate? Its been forever! I have no idea?
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? See #7. Also since I've been married, Josh and I do stocking for each other. Its fun to see what he comes up with! :)
14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Remembering and celebrating the birth of Christ and being with family. But I love all the magic associated with Christmas. Also there isn't anything better than having young children around the holidays.
15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? That's a hard one...fudge?
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? I'll expand on this in another post.
17. What tops your tree? a star
18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? Giving would be the PC thing to say, right? No I really do love giving. I usually get really excited about a few of the gifts and can’t wait for them to be opened by the recipients on Christmas. Can't wait for my kids to open their presents.
19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? Generally speaking I love most versions of O Holy Night and I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day I also love Dave Matthews band Christmas song.
20. Candy Canes? No thanks.
21. Do you feel Christmas is too commercialized? Yes and no. I love that it’s everywhere during December but I hate the expensive gift push and that it all starts in October.
