Summer is close I can taste it! We kept pretty busy Memorial Weekend. In the morning I was able to do a newborn shoot for my friend Emily. This is baby #6 for her and she was the sweetest little thing. She was a week old and it was wonderful to snuggle with all her newborn goodness.
After pictures Josh and I worked in the garden weeding for around 3 hours. We had family over later that night for a hot dog roast. Josh put benches along 3 sides of the fire pit. We've already had 5 or 6 campfires out there this year!
Sunday we had a family BBQ at my Grandmother's house in Salt Lake. We enjoyed visiting with everyone and seeing the work my Grandma and her husband have done in their backyard.
Josh had work off for Memorial Day. He was able to score some tickets for he and the boys to the Miller MotorSports Park in Tooele. They were having a worldwide SuperBike Championship. They dropped Brynn and I in Salt Lake with my Mom. We had a girls day of our own and got pedicures and lunch.
They had a ball. They boys were so excited to tell me all about what they did and saw.

Lots of free events for the kids. They both both got to ride a mechanical bull and rock climb.

Josh pooped them right out! They both fell asleep on the ride home.

Tuesday morning was field day at school. The kids and I volunteered to help. The weather was rainy so they did all the activities indoors. I helped the kids plant a seed.
TJ started machine pitch baseball for the summer. He has practice Wednesday nights. His first game in next Tuesday. Gage is on a local T-Ball team. It was nice last year when they were on the same team. We've got lots of running around the next few weeks to get them both to different practices and games. Gage starts up next week.
I got a surprise yesterday afternoon when the doorbell rang and flowers were delivered to my door! I was completely floored! I called Josh to thanks him and told him how surprised I was that I couldn't stop shaking. Flowers for no particular reason?...how lucky am I?
I'm feeling very inspired and gun ho about our summer plans this year. I got out the calender and planned out the whole thing. 1 to 2 fieldtrips everyweek, weekly crafts, weekly movie pass, baseball, swim lessons, slip n' slide, waterballons and fun summer food ideas are all things I have planned. It actually makes me tired to look at it, but if I write it down...I'll do it and not let this summer slip away from us.
We started our summer fun today, TJ has one more half day of school tomorrow and I'm so excited for him to be home to join us in the fun.
Today's craft: Shrinky Dinks.
I've been meaning to get these for too long now. I did this craft before when TJ was about 4. The faces he drew me are priceless treasures! I even still have a few hanging from my rear view mirror. I was excited for Gage to make me some too.
We went to Joann's earlier this week and stocked up on supplies. sun catchers, pipe cleaners, googlie eyes, beads, tongue depressors, yarn, we're all set!
(can you see the frogs he made me?)
Brynn did some too...but she mostly just drew on the table.

And today was the start of our Thursday Field trips!!!
On the calender: The Ogden Nature Center

We packed and ate our lunch and looked at the birds they have on display.
We walked out to the first observation deck and looked around.
our lunch spot by the pond.
We met up with Stephanie from my ward and her kids.
It was nice to have some friends to play with.SUMMER 2010 HERE WE COME!!!

I love the newborn pics you did! you do such a beautiful job on all the pictures you take.
Did you find your shrinky dinks at JoAnns? I've been looking for those. I also had to make a calendar of fun things to do everyday, I'm the same way, if I don't have it on a calendar, I won't do it, plus my kid's look at it and say "what about ___?"
That was so sweet of Josh, you lucky girl you :)
Okay sorry, I've said a ton.
Yea summer! You're off to a great start!
