.stuck.

Don't let the smiles and laughing fool you. This was a very dire and serious situation! Brynn managed to get her foot stuck in my brand new elliptical machine. We've told the kids they need to not play on this new toy. I was in the next room when Gage ran in a panic told me that Brynn was stuck. Sure enough, she somehow managed to get her foot wedged in between the track and the foot pedal on the machine.

It wasn't pinched thank goodness. Just wedged very, very tightly. She was in a panic and very upset. I tried to maneuver the machine to get her out. She wouldn't budge. Without any success, I had to step back and reevaluate the situation. First, I got her a chair so she could sit down. Next, since I had a roaring fire in the stove downstairs...I took of her shirt because she was getting sweaty. My first thought was to call Josh, this wasn't a good idea because he was in Page, Arizona for the week. Next I thought to call my Father-in-law. Nope, he was with Josh out of town too. Crap. So then I called my Brother-in-law, Shane to see if he happened to be working near by. He answered and said he was in Riverdale (about 20 minutes away). We both thought a minute and he said to give him a minute to think and he'd call me back. Not five minutes later he called to say he turned around and that he'd be here as soon as he could. I felt horrible having to have him come help us out...but I really needed someone to help me. I just kept thinking I'd have to call the fire department and they'd have to cut her out.

I got her a sippy cup of milk and some gummy bears to help pass the time. Gage actually was a big help and entertained and made her laugh the whole time. This also gave me a chance to get my camera and video the whole fiasco.

Thanks to Shane, she was freed in no time. He just had to unbolt the back of the foot pedal and swing it out. (I wish I could have thought of this and fixed the situation myself, buy my scattered/mommy/my baby's stuck brain didn't let me). That gave us the room we needed to get her foot pulled out. Hooray! I was happy to have him come and assess the situation with fresh eyes and get her out unharmed and without having to cut my new machine.
