.the BEST day.

Tuesday we headed out early and rented a raft to take down the Green River. Josh and Rick dropped us off at the top, drove both trucks down to the the bottom, left one and then drove the other back up again. We waited while they did this at the boat launch. It was very busy with groups of people headed down. There was also a ton of fishing boats with guides. It was a nice place to wait, lots of people to watch. Here's a picture of the Flaming Gorge dam, the boat launch was right below. I can't help but thing about "what if an earthquake happened right now" when I'm at the base of a dam.

Once they got back we headed down. Josh took to paddling the rear, Rick was at the front drivers side and the kids took turns with the other ores we had.

We had 11 passengers on our raft.

and one dog.

We stopped the boat several times on the ride to get out and play. The boys are standing on a marsh here.

Brynn got out once but didn't like it much. The water was 57 degrees! Burr...

The weather was hot and sunny. Josh did a back flip off the end to cool off.

His next jump was a cannonball.

TJ even braved the freezing water and jumped in. I wish I had my video camera because seeing his face once he popped back up again was priceless. It took his breath away!

Brynn did better than I expected. When we first talked of doing this, I thought that there was no way! Josh came back after rented the raft and said it was an easy float and that people take infants down it all the time.

Gage got in the water too. He didn't jump, his was more like a slow painful submerge.

There was a few rapids and the were so fun! We screamed and yelled all through them which added to the fun. Brynn got worried with all the noise, but I think she really liked it. We even used the #10 can provided to pail out some water afterwards.

It got overcast towards the end of the trip. It couldn't have been more perfect!

I can see why there was so many fishing excursions, the water was so clear and we saw lots of fish.

Here's the whole crew minus Josh taking the picture. I have never been rafting before and can't wait until we do it again!!!

We ran into Katie again at the end. She had completed the river before us and was waiting for her ride.

I told Josh afterwards that this was one of the best things we've ever done together as a family. I already want to go again!

So fun Brit. What fun pictures. I can't wait for the day to take my kids rafting but I have always thought they were too young but it doesn't seem like they are. I'm glad you had a blast.

That looks like it was so much fun!! Will you send me the info on it? I know Ryan and the boys would LOVE to do that next summer! I've always thought my kids were too young also.
